Mentor Studio Programme (I & II)
August 5, 2019
Parent involvement in a child’s education is crucial. When parents get involved in their children’s education, children are more
likely to do better in school, be better behaved, have more positive attitude toward school, and grow up to be more successful in
life. Mentor Studio is one such initiative started by DPS Greater Faridabad where parents volunteer and spend quality time with
students. A dance session was being conducted by the enthusiastic parent volunteers Ms Kusum Ellis and Ms Priyanka Chhabra.
The talented parents made the students dance to the all-time favourite lullabies like ‘Nani Teri Morni Ko’ and ‘Lakdi ki Kathi’.
Students also learned some quick and fun Zumba moves. This programme was a perfect recipe for fitness fun. Students twirled,
flipped, jumped and enjoyed each and every dance move. The efforts and creativity of the parents in making the session a vibrant
and energizing event was clearly visible through the happy faces of the Dipsites.
Diwali Fiesta (Nursery - II)
October 22, 2019
The festival of lights came alive at DPS Greater Faridabad when the whole school wore a festive look with diyas, lanterns and
rangolis adorning the corridors in bright colours. The Diwali Fest started with an exciting Diya making activity wherein the
students of classes Nursery and Prep tried their hands on Potter’s Wheel. Rangolis were made to help students understand that
a Rangoli is drawn on the floor to invite Goddess Lakshmi to their homes. They drew beautiful patterns in front of their classes
seeking the blessings of the Goddess. Dipsites were explained the ill-effects of crackers and were encouraged to celebrate an
eco-friendly and pollution-free Diwali. Guidelines on ‘Say NO to crackers’ were also shared through a story- ‘Seekh’. The movie
‘Ramayana – An Indian Epic’ brought out the essence of the festival. To enhance the innovative skills and explore the creativity
of our young learners, Intra-Section Bandhanwar Decoration Competition was also organized for grade I . With the excitement
of the festive season in the air, the enthusiasm shown by the students was infectious. Students used varieties of decorative items
like beads, mirrors, glitters, flowers, motifs etc. to create their masterpieces, thereby learning how to be helpful to the parents. The
students of class II enthusiastically participated in making beautiful torans using various kinds of materials. There was a lot of
excitement amongst the young Dipsites and each Toran exhibited creative genius and the ongoing festive fervour in the minds of
all. Our young learners put their heart and soul in Diwali Card making activity wherein they wrote lovely messages for their loving
parents. It was an amazing blend of origami, drawing and colouring. The celebration instilled the festive spirit in our students.
