Rendezvous with our Community Helpers

Community Helpers Week (Nursery & Prep)
This special gratitude week was celebrated for Class Nursery from December 09-20, 2019 and for Prep students from
January 16, 2020 – January 31, 2020. This was organized with an objective to stimulate students’ social development skills
and to create awareness about the role and importance of community helpers in our day-to-day life. It was an exciting
experience for our little ones as the helpers met all the students to exhibit their tools and talked about the services given by
them. They were all excited and curious to welcome
the helpers in their classes. Young Dipsites were

Celebrating Earth Day (Nursery - II)
         Apr 16 - 26, 2019
Every Day is Earth Day. Let’s make it better in some way…!!
The Earth gives us food, shelter, air and everything we need to survive. In return
it only asks us to keep it clean and healthy which is essential for the survival of all
living things. Therefore, for the living things to survive, we need to keep the Earth
         alive.
DPS Greater Faridabad family has always been an active body in building a greener
and better tomorrow. In this endeavour, the Little Wonders Wing had planned a
plethora of events on Earth Day for the young Dipsites of Classes Nursery-II.
Our Dipsites contributed in many different and interesting ways. The young learners
of Nursery and Prep witnessed a practical experiment on biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste where they understood
how biodegradable waste gets converted into compost and non-biodegradable waste takes a long time to decompose making that
part of soil infertile. They learnt the importance of segregation of waste by using appropriate (Green /Blue) bins.
Followed by this was ‘Let’s Adopt a Plant Drive’– Each section of Classes Nursery and Prep adopted a plant for their classes and
learnt how to treat it with care. They learnt to be friendly and caring towards our feathery , four-legged friends too. The same day
they made a craft out of recycled material to exhibit the importance of the 5R’s.
Our creative students of Class I created a craft out of any recycled material eg. newspaper as a promise to save Mother Earth.
They wrote beautiful and motivating messages on it. It was a great way to create awareness about the environment.
Each student of Class II planted a sapling in the school premises with a promise to care and nurture it, under Green Drive
initiative. There were approx. 254 saplings planted. They also participated in an Intra Section Poster Making Competition. The
students showcased their creative skills blended with beautiful colours. The theme of the competition was 'Earth Day'. Students
wrote amazing slogans depicting the beauty of Mother Earth.
The Dipsites of classes Nursery – II observed 'Earth Minutes' when all the electrical appliances of their classes were switched off
for two minutes. They also took a pledge to save water / electricity and natural resources.
It was a treat to the eyes to see each Dipsite of Little Wonders Wing turn into a Save Energy Enthusiast. The students went home
with a pledge to save mother earth and plant more and more trees..
