C.O.L.L.I.D.E (COLLECTIVE LEADERSHIP THROUGH INCLUSIVE AND DIVERSE ENGAGEMENT)
FOR CREATIVE TRANSFORMATION, BY MINDSPACE 2019
We at DPS Greater Faridabad, under the expertise and guidance of our Principal, Ms. Surjeet Khanna,
availed an opportunity on October 31, 2019, wherein a special interactive session was crafted for our
students (Student Council Members of Classes 7, 8 and 11, along with Psychology students of Class XI)
with the students of Deepalaya (Gole Kuan) and volunteers from Amity University. COLLIDE is a brain
child of Swayam Foundation, an NGO that works on child-related issues and issues that revolve around
mental health. Through COLLIDE, we got an opportunity to explore the issue of ‘mental health’ in a
creative way. The tone of the session was set by expert speakers like Dr. Mridula Seth (Ex. Professor Lady
Irwin College), Ms. Surjeet Khanna (Principal, Delhi Public School, Greater Faridabad), who shared their
views about mental health and wellness through their experiences and stories. The experts talked about
how and why mental wellbeing is as critical as physical wellbeing.
Students were thereafter arranged into an interactive collaboration with the students from Deepalya
and were further divided into groups. These groups took turns to address the concerns of mental health
through improvisation, audio-visuals, storytelling and other creative tools like theatre, visual media and
         arts.
The story telling session was conducted by Ms. Elsa. This session dealt with various dimensions of self-
esteem and self-confidence and helped the students in arriving at their own definitions of leadership. The
idea was to have as many definitions of healthy leadership emerge as possible and help us prepare for
         the challenges ahead.
The Art session conducted by Ms. Swati was again meaningful, wherein she talked about self-image,
the ‘real’ and’ ideal self’ and how the discrepancy between the two selves leads to unrest. The session
on ‘Theatre’ emphasized how important it was for all of us to use ‘and’, ‘or’ messages so that we can
communicate effectively, and thus, improve our relationships.

         ANNUAL FESTIVAL - ATHARV 2019
Five students accompanied by their teacher,
Ms. Kavita Saxena visited the IIM Indore campus,
situated atop a scenic hill, blessed with scenic
beauty and remarkable architecture. The Pi Quiz
was an event of IIM Indore’s annual fest Atharv with
street plays and dance performances. Students
were made to participate in many fun filled & mind
boggling games like Soapy Football, Knock-outs,
Paintball and Body Zorbing. This was followed by
prize distribution ceremony where the students
were awarded with medals and certificates.
