The frenzy, with which the students and teachers of DPS Greater Faridabad
worked in unison for the exhibition, was a reflection of passion for
excellence that each Dipsite nurtures in his or her heart. The themes were
chosen to ensure a glimpse of all aspects of our country’s development be it
technology, sports, tourism, application of Math, mental health awareness,
global relationships, our heritage and celebrating Gandhiji’s 150 birth
th
anniversary. Each department in school was allocated theme(s) to be
displayed in 12 stalls. The planning began at the grass root level. The size of
the stall was broken down in segments and inch by inch, every detail was
listed out that would bring out the essence of the theme. The exhibition also
promised a day filled with the alluring ragas and mesmerizing traditional
dances and we began the planning for the same. From choosing the music,
deciding the steps and co-ordination, to costumes, makeup and hairdo,
every detail was worked out by our Music and Dance teachers. Balancing
academics and preparing for the exhibition was a daunting task but at DPS
Greater Faridabad, the efficient teachers and students planned it well.
Finally, the final day arrived…
DPS Greater Faridabad presented India on the Move, a research-based
exhibition on India on November 24, 2019 which will remain in the collective
psyche of the entire DPS Greater Faridabad family as a day to cherish the
mystery and beauty and sheer exuberance of our nation. This entire annual
production was made possible with the joined efforts of 1800 students of
Classes V to IX and XI and their creative and vibrant teachers.
This exhibition was an attempt at exploring India as a progressive nation
after 73 years of freedom to recognize and reaffirm our pride as Indians.
‘India on the Move’ is closely linked with our ongoing program of ‘Know
your Roots’. An added charm to this bright winter morning was the
presence of the Chief Guest, Padma Shri Professor Biman Bihari Dass, an
Indian sculptor par excellence and former Principal of the Government
College of Art & Craft, Kolkata. Also making their presence felt were the
ever graceful Smt. Shail Bala Jain and the charming Mrs. Monika Jain, Mr. B
N Aryan, Director, Home of Folk Art (Museum of Folk, Tribal & Neglected
Arts), Mr. Krishna Ahuja, Vice President, All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society,
Mr. Praveen Mehto, Mr. Morita San, Ms. Devina Sharma Lecturer, GSSS,
Tilpat, Mr. Vishal Gupta, Director of Mindbox, and the student delegation
from Denmark who are a part of the Indo-Danish Student Exchange
Program, among other eminent dignitaries. The real star of the day was
the wonderful and ever growing DPS Greater Faridabad family a veritable
tree of life, so as to say.
The sun blessed us on the pleasant day when the ground transformed into
a majestic land of knowledge, creativity and talent. It is fervently believed
that people grow intellectually when they share their ideas, thoughts,
cultures and knowledge with others. The visitors could be seen learning
from the students how math can be fun and entertaining.
