Next was our much awaited annual event, felicitation
of the ‘I Read…I Lead’ program. I chose the day
May 09, 2019 for it. I was fortunate enough to be
able to have Ms. Paro Anand, a renowned author,
accept my invitation for the same. Ms. Anand, a high-
spirited person, is always gracious enough to share
both her personal and professional life experiences
with our Dipsites. She gave prominence to the fact
that reading books not only gives knowledge and
inspiration but also empowers with confidence
and wisdom to deal with real life situations more
gracefully and wisely. She also stated that reading
is travelling for the soul, it helps one leave all the
workday troubles behind and relax. Ms. Paro Anand
went on to draw on her childhood experiences,
many of which were funny and vivid while some being edifying life learning instances which was one of
the reasons that gave her a deep insight into writing and sparked the creative process. The highlight of
the day was the story of her adventurous trip to Malaysia wherein she spent some amusing time with the
natives. She also shared with us a few funny ‘Malay’ words that have hilarious literal meanings in Indian
language. Her enticing yet virtuous stories left our students mesmerized and inspired. Our students
were impelled to glide into the world of reading by her energy and enthusiasm. The students remained
electrified all through the session which ended with an enlightening quiz.
My mentor, Ms. Mamta Deshwal, always striver to upgrade me, equipping me with the best available
tools. She attended a training program on Application of ICT in School Libraries at DPS Mathura Road,
New Delhi organized by DPS Society, HRD Centre from August 9 to 21, 2019. The program was attended
by 38 select DPS Librarians from across the country. It was a wonderful gateway of learning for her as
the ultimate goal of the workshop was to empower the library with different ICT initiatives ,tools and
techniques.
I am always on the look out for an opportunity
to share my platform with as many readers as
possible. On August 17, 2019, 35 students and 1
teacher from the Govt. Senior Secondary School,
Tilpat, Faridabad were invited for hands on
experience of E-Books on I–pads. Beautiful short
stories were downloaded for them in the I-Pads. I
could visibly see the amazement and the shine in
their eyes when they touched the I-pads, perhaps
many had touched it for the first time. Their fingers
didn’t stop scrolling page after page. We did not
stop here, we had to do more for these guest
students. We appealed to our Dipsites to donate all
kinds of books and succeeded in creating a library
corner in their school. We did not stop here ! On
August 26, 2019, three teachers - Ms. Anjana Dang,
Ms. Vinita Girkoti and Ms. Mamta Deshwal planned
some exciting Library activities for the students in
