What better hands on experience of democracy
can we give at school than to let our Dipsites
elect their student representatives in the truly
democratic way - ‘THE ELECTIONS’. It began
with the students of Classes XI & XII nominating
themselves for various posts of the Student Council.
After an indepth review by the Student Council
Committee, the names of the shortlisted candidates
were announced by Principal ma’am. Thereafter the
school campus, corridors, classrooms were abuzz
with canvassing and persuasions for the nominated
candidates. All the bulletin boards were covered
with canvassing posters. Infact, we could even see
e-canvassing going on. Then came July 11, 2019, the
day of voting. The whole day, we could see queue
of students moving towards the computer lab,
voting and showing off the indelible ink (the black
marker) on their finger with a smile for having voted
for their favourite candidate. This was followed by
eager anticipation for the results, which happened
the next day by respected Principal Ma’am. The
wait for the Investiture Ceremony was next which
began with regular practice by the Student Council
Members.
We held our Investiture Ceremony for the academic
session 2019-20 on July 24, 2019 in which the
reign of responsibility was handed over to the
newly elected Student Council Members. The day
began with a mesmerizing song by the western
music school choir. The Members of the Cultural
and Discipline Committee and appointees for
the Interact Club Agrani and IT Club Cyber Crew
from Classes IV-XII were the added features of
this years’ Student Council. The Student Council
this year comprises of 76 members with Atharv
Kapoor as the Senior Head Boy, Ishita Srivastava
as the Senior Head Girl, Aryaman Sahay as the
Junior Head Boy and Briti Ahuja as the Junior
Head Girl. The students were felicitated with badges
by Mr. Tarun Gupta, an eminent educationist and
philanthropist of Faridabad along with the school
Principal, Ms. Surjeet Khanna after which the oath
was administered. The council pledged allegiance to
the duties entrusted on them and vowed to abide by
the rules of the school. The Chief Guest highlighted
on the importance of nurturing the virtues of
humanity and selfless service towards all among the
Dipsites. The event culminated with a scintillating
performance in praise of Lord Ganesha. Our spirits
were high and the newly elected Student Council
took charge of the responsibility entrusted on them
with a promise to live up to the expectations of
their loyal voters. The day came to a close with the
Principal urging one and all to deliver their best and
make the school proud of their achievements.
