Hariyali Teej, celebrated on the Tritiya Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Sawan, holds immense significance for married women in Sanatan Dharma. Detailed in various religious texts, this festival is observed with deep devotion.
Hariyali Teej marks the beginning of the monsoon season and is celebrated with enthusiasm by women. It commemorates the reunion of Goddess Parvati with Lord Shiva, symbolizing marital devotion and love. Women immerse themselves in the festive spirit by wearing green clothes, swinging on beautifully decorated swings, and singing traditional folk songs. The festival not only celebrates love and devotion but also strengthens the bonds of affection and trust within the family.

‘The essence of Hariyali Teej is in the smiles it brings and the hearts it connects’. The students from Montessori to Class II celebrated Teej with great joy and enthusiasm on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. The event aimed to immerse students in the rich cultural traditions of Teej while fostering learning and community spirit.
The Little Wonders Wing was beautifully decorated on the occasion of Hariyali Teej with colorful buntings, flowers, and ribbons, setting a festive mood. The celebration began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by our honorable Principal, Dr. Bindu Sharma, and our Headmistresses, Ms. Ritu Jain, and Ms. Sanjana Mahajan.
The young Dipsites from Nursery and Prep classes showcased their talents through mesmerizing dance performances, reflecting the artistic expressions associated with Hariyali Teej. Teachers also joined in with captivating traditional music performances, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Students were encouraged to wear vibrant traditional outfits for Hariyali Teej, enhancing the cultural experience. Dressed in various shades of green, the little ones explored the festival through stalls featuring Mehndi, bangles, tattoos, and Ghevar, all of which highlighted the rich Indian culture. A captivating video explained the significance of Hariyali Teej, and students joyfully adorned their hands with Mehndi and tattoos while savoring the sweet delight of Ghevar.
The Hariyali Teej celebration at Little Wonders Wing was a resounding success, blending tradition with education in a meaningful way. The event not only enhanced students’ cultural awareness but also fostered a sense of community and togetherness, leaving lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for the rich heritage of Hariyali Teej.
