[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A webinar on National Curriculum Framework for foundational stage was conducted by HRDC, DPSS on August 10,2023.

The speaker for the webinar was Dr. K.V Sridevi, assistant professor, Department of curriculum studies and development, NCERT, New Delhi.

The webinar provided an insightful overview of the NCF for the Foundational stage highlighting key aspects related to the vision of NEP, transformation of curricular and pedagogical structure, guiding principles, curricular goals, strategies for literacy, numeracy and assessment.

It also dealt into how teachers can effectively implement its principles while planning for teaching.

 Key takeaways included recognizing the importance of emergent literacy and numeracy skills, where the priority has to be given more on oral skills over writing.

The practice of documenting reflective journal on regular basis would work as an asset to be aware of each child’s unique capabilities / preferences and qualities as per their developmental milestones.

The webinar offered a recapitulation of the key principles outlined in the National Curriculum Framework (NCF).
