Hungry to Read: A Reading Competition

Ignited Minds: the Senior School Library of DPS Greater Faridabad initiated a reading competition, “Hungry to Read,” which sparked tremendous enthusiasm among students of classes VII-IX. The competition provided students with 10 days to read books from the library. In addition to their regular library periods, many students visited the library during lunch breaks and substitution periods, eagerly diving into their books. The library became a vibrant hub of activity during these 10 days, as students were deeply engrossed in their reading.

The students displayed remarkable dedication, often rushing to the library the moment the lunch bell rang. Some even finished their meals outside the library so they could quickly return to their books. There were instances when students reserved books to ensure they could continue reading them the next time they visited, and some even tried to hide their favorite books to prevent others from picking them up.

A total of 82 students registered for the competition, and after intense participation, 26 students emerged as winners. The winners were awarded badges, books, and certificates in recognition of their efforts. It was truly a delightful sight to see the Dipsites so hungry to read!
