Earth Day is the perfect opportunity to honour Mother Earth and create awareness of the need to protect her from pollution, global warming, and water scarcity, which not only harm the environment but, also result in the destruction of the planet. It has been a continuous effort at DPSGF to sensitize students about the conservation of natural resources and to motivate them to do their bit towards making their planet look even more beautiful. Keeping this thought in mind, our enthusiastic ‘Environment Saviours’ of Class I and II celebrated Earth Day on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 with great enthusiasm and fervour. To begin with, an interactive session was conducted on the importance of our planet and the need to save it, followed by a motivational video. The students were apprised and enlightened with the need to take care of our mother earth. They were told about the importance of recycling things namely- plastic bottles, used papers, etc.to reduce trash on the landfills. Moving ahead, the Dipsites of Class I made beautiful wall hangings- ‘Environment Crusaders’ and students of Class II participated in Crown Making Activity- ‘Earth Warriors.’ The students showcased their artistic skills by drawing pictures and also wrote thought-provoking messages. The event sparked the energy of understanding the importance of nature and ways to nurture and save the Earth.                                                                  

To commemorate the successful completion of 10 glorious years of DPSGF, the students of Class I and II participated in the Plantation Drive- ‘Adopt a Plant’ under the guidance of their teachers. On Thursday, April 20, 2023 each section of Class I and II planted a sapling in a pot outside their classrooms. They promised to nurture it with love and care. We are hopeful that the saplings will bloom into exuberant flowers and later a giving tree, just like our students!

 The day went ahead with an array of fun-filled activities and games followed by class party wherein the students shared their food with their classmates and teachers. The day ended with all students enjoying themselves and taking back fond memories of a day well spent.
