On November 25, 2023, students from Reader’s Den club of DPS Greater Faridabad embarked on an enriching journey to Bookaroo, a vibrant literary festival held at Sunder Nursery, Nizamuddin, Delhi. The visit was led by their teachers, Ms. Mamta Deshwal and Ms. Kiran Sondhi.

The festival offered a diverse array of literary activities tailored for children across different age groups. One of the highlights was the golden opportunity for the students to personally engage with acclaimed authors such as Nihanika Mahtani, Vikram Agnihotri, Roopa Pai, Ranjit lal and many more . They seized the chance to not only meet these renowned literary figures but also to listen to their insights and interact with them. The students, enthused by this encounter, purchased books authored by their favorites and were privileged to have them autographed by the writers themselves. Apart from engaging with authors, the students were captivated by the enthralling storytelling sessions led by the esteemed storyteller Rituparna Ghosh. Additionally, they were greatly inspired by Vikram Agnihotri, who, despite physical challenges, showcased remarkable abilities beyond writing books, leaving a lasting impression on the young minds present. One of the charming activities involved the students writing down their aspirations and wishes, which they then hung on the festival’s Wishing Tree, fostering a sense of hope and optimism for their dreams to materialize in the future.

The atmosphere at Bookaroo was vibrant and bustling with activities, creating an environment filled with excitement, fun, and numerous learning opportunities for all attendees. The event provided a platform for students to immerse themselves in the world of literature, fostering creativity, imagination, and a love for reading. Overall, the visit to Bookaroo was an enriching and inspirational experience for the students leaving them with cherished memories and an ignited passion for literature and storytelling.
