The “I Read…I Lead” program at DPS, Greater Faridabad aims to instill and nurture reading habits among students. This year’s event, held on May 9, 2024, was marked by enthusiasm and dedication. Ms. Madhurima Vidhyarthi, an accomplished endocrinologist and author, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Known for her literary works like “My Grandmother’s Masterpiece” and “Munni Monster,” she captivated the audience with her presence. Welcomed warmly by the esteemed Principal, Dr. Bindu Sharma, and the Headmistresses of Middle and Junior wing, Ms. Vidhyarthi was escorted by members of the reader’s club to the venue. The ceremony commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the felicitation of achievers from classes IV-XII.
The program was divided into two segments: first, acknowledging the avid readers of classes VII-XII, and second, celebrating the young readers of classes IV-VI. A total of 510 students were honored, with four receiving silver badges and two receiving gold badges. Ms.Vidhyarthi shared her insights and journey as a writer, shedding light on her book “Munni Monster” and raising awareness about cerebral palsy. She emphasized the importance of reading and its role in fostering empathy and understanding. Principal, Dr. Bindu Sharma commended the winners and highlighted the transformative power of books. The interaction between the budding readers and Ms. Vidhyarthi was engaging, with students eagerly posing questions and receiving autographed copies of her book. The session proved to be both interactive and enriching, reinforcing the value of reading in shaping young minds.
