A celebration of gratitude, acceptance, wisdom, resilience… and I could just go on for
this song deeply resonates with me. ‘Zindagi Chal Tera Shukriya’, the Shreya Ghoshal
version, is my daily anthem. Yes, the lyrics, emotions, the whole vibe strike a chord for
they align strongly with my core values and beliefs and also provide the boost needed
for difficult life experiences. There’s thanks for every breath, every dream, every hope…
‘zindagi se judi har baat ka, Shukriya’ and when the going get tough, the song tells me ‘har
ache bure halaat ka Shukriya’ and then the king of all life lessons, which actually is my
saviour- ‘pyaar bhare pal baandh ke rakh le, baaki sab kuch rehne de and I tell myself to
let go and look for the sun when dealing with unfair situations! And I can’t resist the final
reality check which I feel we all need, especially in the times of I, Me, Myself…The ultimate
truth is ‘kuch nahi haath aayega yahan…’ despite the fiercest of competitive spirits with
which we turn everyday situations into a battle for…. (endless answers) ….while we could
simplify life with Shukriya for our individual countless blessings.
I think I could go on and on for this is my one go-to song for all seasons. So… Shukriya
Zindagi for all you’ve gifted me… shukriya
