“Ek Din Bik Jayega Maati Ke Mol… Jag Mein Reh Jayenge Pyare Tere Bol.”
This song and the singer were my father’s favourite. What makes me teary-eyed is the
fond memory of this song playing on the transistor or tape recorder that always sat beside
my daddy’s bed. This song is a rhapsody of my childhood. My father would often listen
to it; Mukesh, Manna Dey, Yesudas, Kishore Kumar, Rafi Saab—these were his all-time
           favourite singers, among many others.
Sometimes, I wish there was a time machine that could take me back to those cherished
moments I spent with my parents and siblings. Though they have been gone for years, the
taste of my mother’s food and the warmth of my dad’s love remain fresh in my heart. His
taste in music and his love for books—especially novels, which were always tucked away
under the bed—instilled in me a lifelong passion for reading.
This song is close to my heart, not just because it was my daddy’s favourite, but also
because its deep meaning still resonates with me today.
Few things in life are irreversible like the comeback of parents. Life is uncertain and short,
so let’s spread love while we can.
