Bonding with the Youth Mayor

One of the unique features of the town Bewdley was that it has a youth Mayor who is just 15 years old and
represents the youth and their interests in the town. She is the second youth Mayor democratically elected.
Obviously she had to be a girl, her name was Elizabeth and we called her Liz. She is a really warm and amicable
person. We both had one thing in common, well almost one thing that she was a triplet and I am a twin. We
shared our interests and talked about how we were so blessed to have our other halves with us. She told me
that in order to be elected she
had to give a speech, there were
         other candidates too and then
out of all of them she was voted
in. Both of us got along really
         well! We ate tamarind toffee
together and I offered to get her
         some as she absolutely loved
them. She also told me that she
got to sit with the Mayor in the
Town Hall. It was an out of the
box thinking to have taken the
         youth Mayor initiative.

After meeting the Mayor of The Bewdley, we got
a total time of 3 hours to shop in a mall called the

them unique to the UK. Since Christmas would be

items—glittery, red and green coloured clothes and

excitement knew no bounds when it came to buying

ended with loads of keepsakes from the UK, each

         The Bewdley School

Trip to London has been a dream come true
for me. We are having way more fun than
we thought. The best thing was visiting the
Bewdley School. In the school, I was suprised
seeing the creativity of students. We went in
different classes and realised that the Bewdley
School gives more importance to imagination
than knowledge. The experience that I would
never forget was meeting the Mayor of the
town. It was an immense pleasure to meet the
         Mayor and learn from him.
