A 6-day long (May 06-11, 2019) Book Exhibition facilitated by Scholastic India
marked the beginning of the Book Week and remained its high point throughout.
This event was inaugurated by Ms. Surjeet Khanna, School Principal with Primary
and Middle School Headmistresses.

During the Book Week, an Author Session by Ms. Paro Anand, renowned author from Scholastic Ltd., kept
everyone spellbound. The author was the Chief Guest for I Read....I Lead (IRIL) Felicitation Ceremony
for Bronze, Silver and Gold Badge Qualifiers of Classes III–XI for the session 2018-19. Under this program
445 proud recipients of Bronze Badge, 50 of Silver Badge and 18 of Gold Badges were felicitated by
Ms. Paro Anand.

Ms. Anand is a high-spirited person who has been gracious enough to share both her personal and
professional life experiences with our Dipsites. She gave prominence to the fact that reading books not
only gives you knowledge and inspiration but also empowers you with confidence and wisdom to deal
with real life situations more gracefully and wisely. She also stated that reading is travelling for the soul,
it helps one leave all the workday troubles behind. Ms. Paro Anand went upon to draw on her childhood
experiences, many of which were funny and vivid while some edified life learning instances which was
one of the reasons that gave her a deep insight into writing and sparked the creative process. The main
highlight of the day was her delightful trip to Malaysia wherein she had met the native people with whom
she had spent some amusing time and she also shared with us a few funny Malay words that have hilarious
literal meanings in Indian languages. Her enticing yet virtuous stories left our students mesmerized and
inspired. Our students were impelled to glide into the world of reading by her energy and enthusiasm. All
the children relished meeting her and were pleased to be a part of this session. The students vigorously
participated in the session the whole time and it was concluded with an enlightening quiz.
In its entirety, the Book Week proved to be a week full of jollification and learning which culminated with
the prize distribution ceremony. The exhibition very explicitly showcased the artistic and literary talent of
the Dipsites. This session had been exciting and inspirational experience.
