WORLD POLICE: FRIEND OR FOE?
BY WHAT-IF (REPORTER, PRABJOT KAUR)
Day 1 was filled with thoughtful and well-crafted speeches. The second day started with
the Mod session 3 instead of a GSL. The session commenced by the delegate of India,
which comprised a unique and impressive theme which focused on three aspects: world
police, secularism, and country’s laws. The delegate of China was the first one to agree to
the question at hand. It provided logical arguments for their point. They said “the world
police may intervene in in their country’s internal affairs and it would lead to military
conflicts.” Nepal was next, which stated “the establishment of a world police would pose
many religious problems as Nepal has a majority of Muslims and they would want the
world police to contain their religion in it, however it should consist of officials of every
religion.” Meanwhile Russia was in not in the favour of the existence of a world police as it
was fearful that US would be given a high rank and it would only prevent physical crimes
and not cybercrimes. Germany described the negative and positive points towards the idea.
It stated that all the nations would have to substitute their laws but at the same time it
would unite the whole world.
France believed “the world police would not create any problem as it is not forcing but
guiding their set of policies in a peaceful way”. Egypt presented an interesting argument
that pointed out “the world police is most likely to be dominated by todays’ superpowers
i.e., Russia, US and CHINA”. To this the chairperson suggested the delegates of China and
Russia to answer the question posed towards them and clear what is their stand on it.
Although What-if consists of young minds, their arguments definitely indicate signs of
maturity and tons of hidden potential. CARTOONIST- ANUJA SAHAY

Dear Diary,
Today, I want to talk about the current Fatah-Hamas
struggle that has caused serious worry in the world.
There is a deep historical origin for this conflict, and
it still continues to shape the political situation in
Palestinian territories. The primary cause of the
Fatah-Hamas conflict is that it is a power struggle
within two strong Palestinian factions. Fatah, led by
its chairman, the Palestinian Authority’s president
Mahmoud Abbas, dominates the West Bank.
However, Hamas, led by Ismail Haniyeh, governs the
Gaza Strip.
This conflict has its roots in the 2006 Palestinian
legislative elections, where Hamas won most of the

authority between Fatah and Hamas, which governed
