D.P.S Greater Faridabad, organized “The Bookies Club-Library Outreach Initiative” on December 22, 2023, aimed at connecting with GGSSS, Sihi, Faridabad to engage students through a series of educational and interactive activities.120 students along with their teachers Ms. Devina and Ms.Deepa. In all  8 sessions were organized for students of classes IX to XII .

The day-long event featured a diverse range of engaging activities like

Mandala Art: Exploring intricate patterns and fostering creativity.
Robotics Workshop:Providing hands-on experience in robotics and technology.
Adulteration Awareness:Educating students on food safety and adulteration.
Stain Removal Techniques:Practical demonstrations on effective stain removal.
Madhubani and Warli Art Sessions:Exploring and learning traditional art forms. 

Apart from this  a reading session on I pads and story puzzle activities were also conducted during the library session and  the students were felicitated with bookmarks. Dr. Bindu Sharma, Principal DPS Greater Faridabad, welcomed the students wholeheartedly and encouraged them to explore more. She talked about the importance of 4 C’s i. e critical thinking creativity, communication and collaboration.

The highlight of the event was the Kahani Chaupal session organized by the Reader’s Den Club students. The students from GGSSS, Sihi, were active and enthusiastic participants throughout this storytelling session.

The narrators presented the story,”Foolish Jack” emphasizing the moral, “think before you take actions” and “Use our common sense.”The narrators Dhruv Bhardwaj, Aarav Gupta, Lavitra Rustagi, Parag Kaushal of Class VII D enacted the story, immersing the audience in its essence. The narrators were commended and honored with badges as a gesture of love and appreciation for their captivating performance, breathing life into the story.

The event took place amidst the serene environment of DPS Greater Faridabad, with students engaged under the shade of a tree, surrounded by lush greenery and fresh air. This setting contributed significantly to the immersive and enriching experience of the storytelling session.

Ms. Sanjana Mahajan, Headmistress Middle Wing felicitated the students and presented them stationary items, Art craft books and board games as a token of love.The initiative achieved its goal of fostering community engagement and knowledge sharing. GGSSS, Sihi students actively participated, displaying enthusiasm and receptiveness to the various activities, especially the storytelling session. The event succeeded in creating an educational and interactive platform, leaving a positive impact on both the performers and the audience.
