The much-awaited Dandiya Raas Eve at Delhi Public School, Greater Faridabad took place on October 19th, creating a vibrant and unforgettable evening, showcasing the rich tapestry of Indian culture. Held on the picturesque lush green lawn, the event was a delightful celebration of dance and culture.The school campus was alive with colours, music, and rhythmic beats as the Dipsites along with their parents, and teachers came together to celebrate the Dandiya Night. This vibrant cultural event showcased the spirit of Navratri and allowed everyone to revel in the joy of dance and community.
The event commenced with great enthusiasm as the sun began to set, casting a warm and a golden hue over the lawn. Dressed in their traditional finery, participants of all ages gathered to partake in this lively cultural celebration. The decor was a delightful fusion of traditional elements and contemporary aesthetics. The clay lamps displayed added a touch of authenticity and radiated a warm, flickering light, evoking the spirit of traditional Indian festivals. These artistic creations were a visual treat and added to the festive fervour of the event.
The event began with the welcome address of the Principal, Ms. Surjeet Khanna, who warmly welcomed the Chief Guest Ms. Shailbala Jain and other esteemed guests for their gracious presence. She also expressed her heart felt gratitude towards the parents and teachers who worked together as a team to create the magic on the stage.
To communicate their devotion and reverence to Lord Ram, a captivating dance performance was presented by our Dipsites. The audience was left spell bound by the grace, devotion, artistry, precision of movements and dedication of the students.
Swirling skirts, clashing sticks, colour rhyme and excitement!
The Dandiya performance showcased by the parents of Pre- Nursery to class VIII and the teachers was the highlight of the night. Dancers dressed in a kaleidoscope of regional outfits swirled and twirled to the melodious tunes of traditional music, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. The whole hearted involvement of the parents added a special touch to the event. With a busy life, finding time to practice is not always easy. But our parents have showed us the true meaning of commitment and support. They have not been just parents but also dedicated performers!
Dandiya Night was not just about dance; it was also a gastronomic delight. The food stalls offered a wide array of mouthwatering Indian snacks and sweets, from savory chaats to delectable jalebis. The aroma of spicy street food filled the air, tempted everyone to indulge in culinary delights. The henna and the bangle stall was a testament to the rich tradition and diversity of Indian culture. The vast array of colourful bangles was a sight to behold. The artist’s expertise in creating intricate henna designs left the parents in awe.
The whole family of DPS Greater Faridabad came together to participate and witness the joyful celebration, reinforcing and strengthening the parent school partnership. This evening brought people of all ages together to dance, share laughter, and create lasting memories.
The Dandiya Night, under the guidance of our Principal ma’am, Ms. Surjeet Khanna was a resounding success. The Chief Guest and the other esteemed guests appreciated the impeccable efforts of the hard- working team of DPS Greater Faridabad to make this event a grand success.
